It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Kes on November
21st, after a courageous battle with cancer. Although she was always confident and remained positive, one thing that we always loved about her, she lost the fight. As she was the center of our lives she will be sorrowfully missed by her daughter Adriana Costa as well as Jacques Lepage, Domenico Costa and Peter, Marianne and Isabelle Kes. As she taught German at Concordia University for nearly 20 years, she will also be greatly missed by her students. After being raised in Germany, she moved to Canada to find her place in Hudson. As her principles of life were generosity and modesty, she always put others before herself. This attitude of life she extended to all animals and loved to spend time with her dogs, cats and horses. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 26th at 2 pm at St. James’ Church in Hudson. She will be buried at St. James’ Cemetery close to the lake she loved. Donations to the Segal Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated.
