BARCLAY, June (née Millsteed) 1935-2021

June Barclay (née Millsteed) passed away at Palliative Care Residence in Hudson on November 28th, 2021. She is predeceased by her late husband Samuel (Sam) Barclay and her daughter, Anne Barclay. She is survived by her remaining children: Shawn, Karen, Molly and Ian and her many grandchildren: Oliver, Charlotte, Morgan, Julia, Ethan, Jordan, Liam and great-grandchildren: Carter and Eve. Our mother will be sorely missed.

She lived by the principles of common decency, industriousness, and resourcefulness. She loved nature and was talented at all she turned her hand to (knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening). She was born on a farm in Western Australia and shared many happy memories of her childhood. She spent her teen years in England immigrating to Canada in the 1950s where she met our father. A long-time resident of Como, Quebec – Our mother was deeply appreciative of the cycle of life and especially loved the seasons that clearly marked one from the other.  Our mother will be easily remembered by the many works of art she has left us over the years.  In addition, her example of kindness and her devotion to friends and family alike will continue to carry us through our lives.

Our family is deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided by the staff at the Vaudreuil- Soulanges Palliative Care Residence in Hudson.

Due to covid restrictions, there will be no public service and we invite people to leave condolences at www.aubryetfils.ca

In lieu of flowers, please consider offering a donation to the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence, www.mspvs.org at 90 Como Gardens, Hudson, QC J0P 1H0 or Health Nova Hudson, 465 Main Road, Suite 202, Hudson, QC J0P 1H0.

I have just heard the sad news and wanted to write to add my voice to the many who have been touched by your mother’s kindness. Living in the country, in Como, there were few adults in my life so her reliable warmth truly left an ineffable mark. My condolences to you.
