On May 7, 2024, Marjorie Stewart Nichol passed away peacefully, after a brief illness. She joins her beloved husband, Arthur Nichol, in the beyond. She is survived by Anne Nichol (Roman Andruch) and Murray Nichol (Cindy Clark).
Marjorie grew up in Hudson and Montreal. She was a WREN (Women’s Royal Naval Service) during WWII. She later lived in Tennessee, where she and Arthur were married. They moved to Vancouver, and then settled in Montreal. Marjorie was an avid gardener, creator of pottery, and gourmet cook. She loved to entertain, and her dinner parties were legendary. She was a long-standing member of The Royal Montreal Curling Club, from 1984 to 2023. She was President of the Ladies’ Branch, from 2002 to 2004, an avid supporter of club bridge luncheons, Christmas parties, and all things Royal Montreal.
Marjorie and Arthur retired to Hudson and spent many happy years there. She was an active member of the Hudson Legion and Hudson community. Marjorie was currently residing at the Maxwell Residence in Baie-D’Urfé.
