He was very proud of his military service and being a member of the Hudson Branch of the Canadian Legion. He was the last living member of the RCAF Para-Rescue Team from WWII in Canada.

A special thank you to Dr. Welik, Judy Tellier and the caregivers of NOVA who helped so much in his final days.

A celebration of Norm’s life will take place at a later date.

In the ten years or so that I new Norm at 394 (West Island) Wing RCAF Association, never once did he have a negative comment or bad thing to say about anyone. He was charming, loyal, honest and always had a kind word or funny tale to tell. Last of a breed WWII vets. God speed to your final post Norm. Thank you for your service.

Dear Robert and family – please accept sincerest condolences from me and my mom, Doris Brown (Ivan’s widow.) I so enjoyed seeing your dad in later years, even more often than when he was at the marina with my dad. He was so articulate and tech savvy for his age during our email exchanges. He never failed to remember my parent’s birthdays and visited them often. I enjoyed being there too. He had a great visit with my mom last October. What a talented and interesting man he was.

It was a pleasure and an honour to know this gentleman. I’ll never forget his smile and the sparkle in his eyes when we talked about the RCAF and his service.

I had the pleasure of knowing Norm through 394 (West Island) Wing RCAF Association. He always had a warm smile and kind words and was always a pleasure to see at our meetings and social events. He had wonderful stories, from his time in the RCAF to playing hockey with a member of the Montreal Maroons. We will surely miss him!
