Please accept our condolences Brenda, Jennifer and Alison. We were very sad to hear about the Barry’s passing. We always enjoyed talking to him and listening to his stories. He always interested in how our children were doing . Jennifer and Alison were the apple of his eye as were his grandkids. He was so very proud of you all. For 19 years, Barry was a wonderful next door neighbour. We will always think of him with great fondness and will always remember his cutting his lawn with a rotary grass cutter for exercise.
I did write a note earlier but it seemed to have disappeared so I began again.
Wishing you strength at this difficult time…
Thank you for those lovely memories! I’m so glad you brought up the lawn mower! Having tried to copy dad by buying one in Alberta, I realized just how much energy it takes to push one of those things! It was wonderful being neighbours with you both too! I am so thankful that my parents chose to bring me up in such a wonderful town!
Joe & Jean, Thank you for your kind thoughts. Brenda
Rest In Peace, Barry, friend, neighbour, and fellow teacher. Be strong, Brenda.
Thank you David for your kind thoughts. Brenda

Thank you for your kind thoughts. Brenda
I’m so sorry for your loss, Mr. Wright was my history teacher in high school and I have fond memories of his classes. May God bless.
Joanna, Thank you for your kind thoughts. Brenda
Our sincerest sympathies to you Brenda, Jen and Alison and family on the passing of Barry. A wonderful friend and teacher who was ever so positive about life and the well being of all his students and family. His love of Hudson and the community was second to none which was obvious either on the golf the course or running the streets or skiing the trails around the town..I especially remember my recent visit with him catching up at a recent memorial for a friend and colleague..We hope that all your family memories will help ease the sadness at this sorrowful time. Thinking of you.
Thank you Bill! It makes me smile inside to know there are still people around who remember my dad as you depicted him! His enthusiasm for life, along with fitness provided fantastic role modelling for me growing up!
Joanna, Thank you for remembering my Dad in your message. It was thoughtful of you to remember him as a HHS history teacher. He really liked being a teacher for so many years. One of his grandsons is studying to become a high school history teacher, just like his Grandpa.
My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to Brenda, Jennifer and Alison. Barry was a true gentlemen and a wonderful mentor to young history teachers, like myself in those bygone days. I remember his humour and willingness to chat. He volunteered coaching baseball every single June Programme and did a wonderful job. He will be missed by his colleagues and an army of his former students.
Thank you very much Mr. Martyn for your thoughtful comments. My Dad would so appreciate your kind words. One of my sons, Ben, is studying to be a high school history teacher like his Grandpa and yourself!
