MANCINI, Gilda 1939-2024

November 7, 1939 – April 12, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved mother Gilda, surrounded by family, at Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal.

Gilda was predeceased by her mother, Lucia Della Porta, and her father, Carmine Mancini. She will be sadly missed by her loving brothers, Antonio, Aldo and Gino.

Gilda leaves behind her cherished children, Garry, Kim, Jody (Kathryn), and Perry (Yhanne); her grandchildren, Dino, Carlo, Andrew, Sabrina, Corey, Jenna, Matteo, Jesse, Erika, and Luca; as well as her great grandchildren, Alexia, Luca, Loghan, Christopher, Giovanni, Lilyanna, and Maximus.

Gilda was born in Montreal where she lived her entire life. She was loving, caring, energetic, unstoppable, and unforgettable. She was extremely proud of her family and was also friends to too many to count.

In the typical Italian tradition of sharing love through food, Gilda liked nothing more than putting on a feast and feeding friends and family. Generous and kind, her door was always open, ready and willing to help anyone in need, especially her grandchildren who were invited to stay with her as long as they wished.

At 84, Gilda still worked; she couldn’t imagine doing otherwise as it made her feel youthful and engaged. She was the oldest employee at CDS in Canada but you wouldn’t have known it; she was always vivacious, elegant and beautiful.

Family and friends are invited to F. Aubry et Fils Inc. Funeral Home, located at 28 Rue Saint-Michel, Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, on Thursday, April 25, 2024 to express their condolences. The visitation will occur from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint-Thomas Aquinas Church, located at 413 Main Street, Hudson, Quebec.

Private Burial for family only following the service.
