MACKAY-BOND, Blyth (née Morrison) 1931-2025

It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Blyth Mackay-Bond of Hudson Heights, Quebec, on July 25, 2025, surrounded by close family. Daughter of Marion and George Morrison from Scotland and Three Rivers, Quebec. Predeceased by loving husband Robert Maxwell Mackay and big sister Mary Young (née Morrison).

Eager to pursue her chosen career, she graduated from the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal in 1952.  Married Bob, McGill BSc’49, in their hometown in 1953.  Blessed with a wonderful family of four; daughter Lynn, three sons; Stuart, Craig and Blair.  Survived by grandchildren; Nicholas, Reid, Britanny, Candice, Zachary, Jade and Salome.  Great-grandchildren; Lucy, Dylan, Addison, Lincoln, Isla, Declan, Mila and Sophia, the youngest born July 1, 2025.

Truly an incredible person, with nursing fulfilled, she then pursued a new opportunity in the CEGEP College system which proved to be gratifying and rewarding from the first day John Abbott College opened in 1971.

She was loved by all that were fortunate to have known her.  She took immense pleasure in her work, as with music, dancing, figure skating, tennis, poetry, and travel.  But above all things in her life, her greatest and dearest treasures were her family and friends.

Blyth will always be remembered for her charming outgoing personality, her easy laugh, vibrant smile and tremendous sense of humour.  She always had something constructive to say that would bring a smile to your face.  She could organize the heck out of anything, with a to-do list for everyone.

Blyth was a tremendous giver of her time, heart and soul.  A defender and encourager of all.  She had a natural gift to touch the hearts of all she met, lift-up those who were down and make winners of us all.  She never failed to help anyone who was in need.  Through volunteering she instigated positive projects, going that extra second mile when needed.

This women from Trois-Rivieres travelled life’s road with all its twists and turns to leave us the message she lived:  Love each other, like I love you.

A Celebration of Life is planned for October.

Thanks to the great care from the Hawkesbury General Hospital staff in her final days.
