Peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on April 11, 2013 in her beloved Town of Hudson, Quebec, surrounded by the love of her family. Linda was born in Ottawa, Ont., the youngest of six children to loving parents, Lamya Monsour and William Karam. Linda’s life was rich and filled with many cherished memories of growing up in Ottawa. Linda was married to Terrance Auger and they raised three wonderful children. After 27 years, their lives took different paths. In 2000 Linda met and married her best friend and soul mate, Rod Hodgson, and together they enjoyed a wonderful life filled with travel and many adventures.
Linda established a successful business in Hudson ‘Linda Auger Draperies’ and for 15 years pursued her creative talents of fine sewing and window designs. Many of Hudson’s beautiful homes display Linda’s flair for designing unique window treatments, many of which were the highlight of the annual Hudson Home Tour.
Her final artistic and sewing venture, of which she was so proud, was “Aprons for Charity”. All of the proceeds have been donated to Hudson charitable causes, mainly NOVA and Maison de soins palliatifs Vaudreuil-Soulanges. Linda always faced her health challenges with courage and optimism and was an inspiration to others fighting this dreadful disease. She participated and completed the 60K West Island Weekend to End Breast Cancer and competed with the Dragon Boat race team West Island Dragons.
Linda will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Rod, whose love, support and constant care were lovingly given.A dearly loved mother, Linda will be especially missed by the three blessings in her life, her children, Trista (Marco Vani), Melissa (Walter Zeeman) and Lucas (Courtney Davies). Her dearest treasures of all, her beautiful granddaughters, Zoe, Joy and Thea Zeeman will forever cherish the wonderful memories of their most devoted Sittoo. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Margo (Pat Kenney), Helen (Douglas Jeffrey), Donna (Michael Whalen), Lila (John Bradley), her brother Phillip (Fadia) and her many nieces and nephews. Linda will also be missed by her many Hudson friends and neighbours who have been constant in their support and encouragement, especially her dear and devoted friend, Sonia Cirka.
