Wali passed away after a brief illness on February 8th in her 92nd year.
She is greatly missed by her daughters Susi Filsner of Hudson, Quebec and Gilly Filsner of Long Buckby, England.
Born in Austria, Wali came to Montreal in 1951 and then raised her daughters in Ville St. Laurent. After a brief return to Vienna, she settled in Hudson in 1998 with her daughter Susi.
Wali loved her life in Hudson and was happy to call it home. Watching the birds in her garden gave her particular joy, especially the cardinals that came to visit the feeders, and she supported the work of Le Nichoir.
Wali will be fondly remembered for her wit and keen sense of humour, her generous spirit as well as her amazing cooking and delicious baking. She loved her life, her family, her animals and her friends.
Hers was a life well lived and well loved. May she rest in peace.
