BRIFFETT, Greg 1960-2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Greg Briffett, 64, on Sunday, May 25, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Greg was the quiet strength behind so many lives. He was the one you called when something broke — whether it was a car, a plan, or just your spirit — and he never let anyone down.

Greg was a lifelong mechanic who never needed a manual and rarely said more than necessary. He had a gift for fixing the unfixable, and not just under the hood. Whether offering a spare part, a sarcastic comment, or a steady presence, Greg gave freely of his time and skill, without ever asking for thanks. Outside the garage, Greg was a man of simple joys. He loved old action movies—preferably with explosions, one-liners, and actors who hadn’t aged gracefully—and had a soft spot for cats, a trait lovingly inherited from his mother. While he often pretended the cats weren’t his idea, they always seemed to end up in his lap. Same goes for his dog, Meg.

He was a deeply committed family man, working hard every day to provide his family with everything they needed and as much of what they wanted as he could manage. His greatest pride was in his wife, Ramona (née Curtis), and their children Samantha, Bernadette (David Iraheta), and JR (Chelsey Lajeunesse). Nothing made him light up like his grandchildren Brayden, Owen, and Logan Iraheta, and Ariya and Sawyer Briffett. He also leaves behind his brother James (Lori Deluca) and his more extended family than can be counted—each one of them knowing they had a place in Greg’s heart, even if he never made a fuss about it.

Though Greg was never one for the spotlight, his absence leaves a space no one else could fill. He built a life on quiet strength, dependability, and love shown through action more than words.

There will be no visitation, but a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at St. Thomas d’Aquin Church, 413 Main Road, Hudson, Québec, J0P 1H0, with a celebration of life to follow at his brother James’ home, 105 Chemin du Versant, Rigaud, QC, J0P 1P0.
