CARRIÈRE, Claudette 1932-2020

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Claudette Carrière of Hudson, on December 6th, 2020, surrounded by family in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence, shortly after her 88th birthday. She leaves to mourn, and to treasure her memory, her beloved children Diane Larose of Vaudreuil-Dorion and Pierre Larose (Cathy) of Miami , her cherished grandson Jake, as well as her sister Francine Carrière Pilon and her nieces Michelle, Linda and Sylvie and great nieces Isabelle, Marianne and Virginie.

Claudette was born and raised in Hudson where her parents Léo and Berthe Carrière owned, ran and lived at the Chateau du Lac for many years before moving to their house on Mount Pleasant. She later attended and graduated from Trafalgar School for Girls and began her accounting career before marrying and moving to Dorion.  She raised her beloved children still in the Vaudreuil-Dorion area.

After divorcing Guy Larose, she resumed her accounting career, later on becoming a valued sales consultant at Birks Jewelers in Fairview, Pointe-Claire for 20 years.

After retiring, Claudette returned to her roots in Hudson by moving to the Manoir Cavagnal, where she quickly joined the ‘Bridge playing community’,  as well as regaining her memberships to the Hudson Yacht Club and the Whitlock Golf and Country Club.  She spoke very fondly of all these activities and the friendships formed along the way with joy.

Dearest Mom, we will always remember your love, beauty, kindness, patience, courage, style and grace. You will be dearly missed by many friends. We will cherish you in our hearts and memories forever.  Sweet Mom, so lovely, so loving and so loved.

Due to actual restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In the meantime, if you would like to share memories or thoughts, these will be shared with Mom’s loved ones.

We would like to thank the caring staff at the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence in Hudson. With their expert care and compassionate guidance, Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep.

Should family or friends desire, donations may be sent to the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence. www.mspvs.org

My heartfelt sympathy to CLaudette’s family.
I am very sad to have lost a very dear friend. Who would have known when I spoke to Claudette on her birthday, in November, that it would be the last time. We started as work colleagues but it wasn’t long before we became good friends. Claudette was a wonderful kind person with so many admirable qualities, someone I looked up to and had the greatest respect for. I know how proud she was of her children Pierre and Diane and her grandson Jake.
    I will miss her dearly.
