Norman Winston Poirier
December 8th, 1941 – August 25th, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father Norm Poirier, husband of the late Vivian Fraraccio.
Norm, Normie, Norman, Grandpa, Grandpa Norm and Daddy are some of the names our father was known by. Sadly he leaves behind his three daughters, Donna (François), Julie (Shayne) and Lisa, his grandchildren, Chloé, Charles and Sam, his sisters Louise and Bev, cousins, brothers-in-law, niece, nephews and many friends.
Norm was a genuine, one of a kind man with unconventional ways. Viewed by many as eccentric, yet those eccentricities were the signs of a highly intelligent man. His business sense, leadership skills and charisma brought him many accomplishments in a successful 39 year career at Kraft Canada Inc.
Norm was an avid golfer with great skill having the bragging rights to 3 “holes-in-one” during his golfing career.
Norm’s love of fishing came early in his life from his father. He pursued this passion aboard his own fishing boat christened “African Queen”. This boat saw many good times and if that boat could talk, the stories it would tell!
He lived a life full of rich experiences and is the one person we know who lived each day to the beat of his own drum. Those experiences resulted in great stories that one would think were imagined but in fact were the accurate retelling of a life well lived.
Our father taught us to be a leader, not a follower, to have a strong work ethic, the benefits of apple cider vinegar and how to start a flooded car with a screw driver!
Although our father came across to many as intimidating, deep down he was a sensitive soul with a soft heart. We will miss his outspokenness, his wit and his presence.
Ironically Norm passed away at 4:08pm, which would have been his usual time for a beer. To that we raise a Bud Light, with lime juice. To you Daddy, we say cheers and thank you for everything.

Monday September 4th, 2017 from 10:00am-11:00am, we will be accepting condolences at St. James Church located at 642 Main Road in Hudson, Québec, J0P 1H0. The funeral service and burial will follow at the same location. We welcome friends and family to join us for a reception at the St. James Church hall following the interment.
