Ronald Snowdon Ritchie passed away peacefully after a brief illness on March 12, 2017 at the age of 86. Predeceased by his father Ronald Arthur Ritchie and his mother Marjorie M. Snowdon, Ron is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Gilberte Ayotte, cousins, and many friends in Montreal and further afield. Longtime resident of Hudson, Ron was a career executive with Canadian Pacific Railway. After retirement Ron devoted his time to Canadian railway history and preservation. He played a key role in the preservation of the CPR Archives by the Canadian Railroad Historical Association at Exporail, the Canadian Railway Museum in St. Constant, Quebec.
The family will receive condolences at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 413 Main Road, Hudson, Quebec, at 1:00 PM on Saturday April 1, 2017. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM. The family would like to thank Dr. R. Hryniowski, the Rigaud CLSC and NOVA Hudson for their exceptional care and support during Ron’s illness.
