SMITH, Francine (née MacDonald) 1945-2023

Francine passed away on August 23rd, 2023 at the age of 78.

She is survived by her two children, Don (Nathalie) and Carollynne (Steve), brother Robert (Francine), grand children Charles, Thomas and Meagan, aunts Denise and Yvette, sister-in-law Barbara (Art) and brother-in-law Jim (Carm), as well as her nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and Fizzy the cat.

She was preceded by her husband Gord, her parents Louise and Maurice, her parents-in-law James and Jesse and her sister-in-law, Anne.

For Francine, sales were her calling. Whether it was real estate or trips to exotic destinations, Francine did it with success and passion. So much so, that she was always at the top of her office`s sales charts month after month, year after year.

The silver-haired beauty had a marvelous sense of humor and a quick wit, she charmed everyone she met with her confidence and charisma.

She had a great sense of style, and she was known for looking smart in anything she wore. Naturally creative, she had a flair for painting, sewing, and knitting and was an excellent cook. She made a world famous tourtière, knitted the warmest of sweaters, and was always a good sport.

Francine was also a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend.

Her children remember fondly how she would stick up for them when needed, console them when they fell off their bikes or help them with important decisions in their adult years.

While we will miss her terribly, we can see her now, smiling, laughing, and cruising through the clouds on the tallest of ships with her husband, parents and in-laws.

We miss you maman, rest in peace and until we meet again, may the ocean wind flow through your hair and keep your soul as beautiful as it was on this Earth.

We raise a glass of red wine, her favorite, to her memory.

A celebration of Francine and Gord’s life will be held on October 14th, 2023, between 11 am and 2 pm, at F. Aubry & Fils Inc. Funeral Home, 28 Rue Saint-Michel, Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC J7V 1E8.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Mira Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Homepage Mira – Improving lives of people with disabilities

I remember Francine and my cousin Gordon suntanning in the backyard of Auntie Jessie’s house in Galt. Francine was a beautiful tanned colour and Gord was as pink as a lobster. It still puts a smile on my face.
Francine was the maid of honour in Anne’s wedding, I was the flower girl. We both wore dresses that were a pretty shade of green and the bridesmaids wore yellow. That was a fun time.
I am so happy that she got to travel and do all the things she loved.

These are a few of my memories, all nice ones that I will cherish. You have so many more and I am sure they will help you get through this sad time.

    Love cousin Leslie
