June 15th, 1929 – January 24th, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Romano Gramegna, at age 90, on January 24th, 2020, at home in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec.
Romano was born in Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1950. From humble beginnings, he worked hard ultimately creating his own landscape business that flourished for over 50 years.
Beloved husband of 69 years to his wife Maria Florio, proud father to Marcello Gramegna (Norm Eelnurme), Marisa Gramegna (Wayne Rose), Anita Gramegna (Alain Lavigne) and Franca Gramegna (Chris Wichlacz), and proud grandfather to his granddaughters Katrine Lavigne (Marc Antoine Ross), Genevieve Lavigne (Richard Jayasuriya) and Amber Wichlacz. He was predeceased by his parents Alessandro and Teresa Gramegna, and his sisters Angela, Dina and Pia. He has many relatives in Italy and Switzerland that he loved dearly.
Viewing will be Friday, January 31st, 2020 from 2 pm to 5 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm, and Saturday February 1st from 10 am at F. Aubry & Fils Funeral Home located at 434 Main Road, Hudson, Quebec J0P 1H0.
The Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 1st, 2020 at 11 am, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church located at 413 Main Road, Hudson, Quebec J0P 1H0.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the St. Anne’s Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Dear Franca. Very sorry to hear of the passing of your father Romano. We had many nice chats with him at the corner of Harwood & Seguin. A lovely man–we will miss seeing him on his tractor at the mail boxes! Sincere condolences to you and the family.
I am very sorry at the news of Mr. Gramegna passing. He and his wife were a part of our town for so long. We miss his store and knowledge!
