It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Florio at the age of 92 on December 3rd, 2021 at Ste-Anne’s Hospital. Maria was born in Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1950. From humble beginnings, she worked hard her whole life to provide support for her beloved husband Romano and a wonderful home to raise the family. She had a heart of gold and will be missed by all who knew her.
Beloved wife of 69 years to the late Romano Gramegna, proud mother to Marcello Gramegna (Norm Eelnurme), Marisa Gramegna (Wayne Rose), Anita Gramegna (Alain Lavigne), Franca Gramegna (Chris Wichlacz), proud grandmother to Genevieve Lavigne (Richard Jayasuriya), Katrine Lavigne (Marc Antoine Ross), Amber Wichlacz and Kristina Eelnurme, and great-grandmother of her one and only great grandson, Antoine Ross. She has many relatives in Italy and Switzerland that she loved dearly.
The funeral will be held on Friday, December 10th, 2021 at 11 a.m. Condolences may be offered prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church located at 413 Main Road, Hudson, Quebec in Canada.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Ste Anne’s Hospital Foundation (Ste- Anne de Bellevue, Quebec) would be kindly appreciated.
