BARBER, Jean Claude 1953-2020

It is with a very heavy heart that we are mourning the passing of Jean Claude Barber who lost his courageous nineteen year battle with multiple myeloma.  Jean Claude was a larger than life guy who loved his family and woke up each day with a positive and happy outlook that touched everyone he met.

Jean Claude was born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1953 but lived all his life in Quebec and identified as a proud Quebecer.  He grew up in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue where he met and retained many of his lifelong friends.  He started his first business, JC Barber Ltd, in 1971, at 18 years old and can claim to have had a business for almost 50 years.  He married Kate in 1979, and had two sons, Michael and Corey of whom he was so proud.

He opened JC Barber Inc. in Ile-Perrot in 1978, and ultimately grew it into JB Michor Inc., a combination of his sons’ names.  Over the next several years, he succeeded in growing it into the successful company that exists today.  He was proud of what he had achieved and of the people he met along the way, both personally and professionally.  He believed in treating everyone with kindness, respect and dignity.

JC is irreplaceable in the lives of his sons Michael (Zara) and Corey (Laura), his niece Bianca (Frederick), his nephew Patrick, his cousin Marilyn Membrives, his mother Jacqueline and the mother of his sons and sweetheart, Kate. He will be missed by his family, close friends and co-workers at JB Michor Inc.  He has been predeceased by his father Claude, his brother Christian, and his sisters-in-law Odette and Patricia.

The family will receive condolences, on Thursday February 20, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Friday February 21, from 10 a.m. at:
