ANSLOW, Ruth Elder 1933-2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Elder Anslow announce her passing Wednesday December 23, 2020 at the age of 87 at her home in L’Île-Perrot, Quebec.  Ruth is predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years Joseph Guy Pierre Lavoie.  She leaves her loving children Randy (Roslyn), Rob (Mary-Jane), Keith (Eleanor), Karen and Margo (Glenn), dear grandchildren Michael, Kristina (Richard), Joey, Kevin, and Jason and her precious great grandson Peter.  Ruth is also survived by brothers Ian and John Anslow and brother-in-law Jacques (Norma) Lavoie.

Ruth was a family person who would do anything for her children, grandchildren, and her brothers. Babysitting grandchildren was her passion.  She loved sleepovers with Mike and Tina, Joey’s stays, and her frequent walks to see Kevin and Jason.  She enjoyed daily phone calls with her children, visits and chats with friends, and her time spent on the veranda in Campbellton NB.  She was particularly proud of the fact that “Nany” was one of Peter’s first words.

Ruth spent her final day opening Christmas gifts with daughter Margo while texting back and forth with her other children.  She passed away, in happy spirits, discussing her plans to return to the C’ton veranda she loved.

Interment will be in Campbellton NB.  There are no immediate plans for a service or memorial.

Donations can be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

To the Family of our Sister-in-law, Ruth. It was with deep sadness that we learned of Ruth’s passing from our nephew Randy. It pleased us to know she was surrounded by her daughter Margo, and via social media with her other children. She will be sadly missed and we have many fond memories of when we were neighbors in Pincourt many many years ago. Our thoughts will be with each and every one of you. Much love as always, Chuck (Jacques) & Norma Jeanne Lavoie
